 Reading to Cardiff

There were major problems at Didcot cancelling many trains, including the 16:13 I was booked on. The faster Cardiff trains are hourly and the 17:13 was cancelled too. Then the 18:13 and I was wondering whether I should make plans to stay in Reading overnight when the 18:13 was announced as arriving at 18:32. Brilliant.

Sorry, no train photo.

The train was packed, as you would imagine with the previous two being cancelled but quite a number disembarked at Reading and I managed to get a vacant seat to my liking. A glass of wine came with the free snacks.

We eventually arrived at Cardiff 36min late, so I should get a refund in the DelayRepay scheme.

Here's the view from 14th floor of Premier Inn. On the downside, the quality of my evening meal left a lot to be desired, as does the room itself.

Wetherspoons have nothing at all to fear from this company.

Birmingham to Bristol return  The outward journey was smooth but the major problem with CrossCountry is that their windows block GPS signals...
